This is an assessment for children ages 0-35 months who are not yet talking or are not using as many sounds or words as we would expect. The assessment includes one hour of direct assessment time, a follow-up phone call to discuss results as well as a summary report with suggestions and recommendations. 

The assessment will include observation of your child during play, parent interview, and gathering of a case history. 

This assessment is for children who are only having difficulty with one sound such as the R sound or a lisp. This includes 40 minutes of direct assessment time. The assessment may include a conversational speech sample, oral mechanism exam, and direct assessment of the sound identified as challenging, and discussion of a treatment plan and goals.

This assessment is for concerns regarding pronunciation of sounds. The assessment includes one hour of direct assessment as well as a follow-up phone call to discuss results. A written assessment summary with preliminary strategies is also included. 

The assessment will include gathering of a speech sample during play/conversation, completion of a speech sound assessment, completion of an oral mechanism exam to rule out any structural areas that may need to be addressed. 

*Note: if language concerns are identified, an additional assessment may be recommended to further investigate this

This assessment is for children with multiple areas of concerns (e.g., pronunciation, forming sentences, and following directions). This assessment may be completed over 1-2 hours and includes a written summary as well as a follow-up phone call to discuss results. 
Assessment may include gathering a language sample through conversation or play, completion of either formal or informal language assessments, completion of a speech sound assessment, and completion of an oral mechanism exam to rule out structural issues that may be impacting speech.

Depending on your child, the assessment may be broken up into 2 appointments.

This appointment is for clients who have already been assessed by an SLP and have an assessment report identifying areas of need. This appointment includes one hour of direct intervention time with an additional 15 minutes of indirect time added for the SLP to review the previous report.

The appointment will include trial therapy and discussion of a treatment plan. 

An individualized treatment plan will be created for your child based on your child's current abilities, expectations for their age, and current needs. Note: sessions with SLP Assistant are under the supervision of the SLP.
 

Sessions are a total of 45-60 minutes:

• 30-45 minutes: Direct Therapy with Child and Family

• 5 minutes: Review of homework for upcoming week with Parent

• 10 minutes: Note Writing

These services as well as their cost will always be discussed with you prior to completion. You will never be charged for a service you did not consent to.

As we are based out of Sherwood Park we do not charge travel within Sherwood Park. If you are outside of Sherwood Park, we do have a home-based treatment space you can come to in order to avoid a travel fee.

Travel fee with SLP assistants will vary.

Are services covered?

Many insurance plans cover at least a portion of Speech-Language Services. Please check with your provider for more information. A receipt will be provided for you to submit for reimbursement.

Fees are set in accordance with the ACSLPA fee schedule.
